Safeguard is a comprehensive service plan. We will repair your product for the term of the plan and if we can’t repair it we will replace it. We only use experienced, qualified and fully vetted engineers. This is not an insurance policy. When your cover is issued, you will receive a certificate which will detail the period of cover and the options you have selected along with the full terms and conditions.

How to Claim?

We are open Monday to Friday 9am — 8pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am - 4pm. All you need to do is simply call us on 0845 6838708. You will need your contract number to hand which is printed on the certificate you receive when you purchase this cover.

When can I buy a Safeguard service plan?

You can purchase a Safeguard extended service plan at any time within the first 11 months after you have bought your electrical product.

Where can I buy a Safeguard service plan from?

Extended service plans and warranties are available from other www.a1domestics.com and in store at 225 Holbrook Lane, Coventry CV6 4DE. Service plans and warranties bought elsewhere may not provide the same level of cover as Safeguard

Can I cancel my service plan?

You can cancel the cover at any time. Within 45 days of the start of the cover or the day you receive your certificate, whichever is the later, cover can be cancelled and the fee will be repaid in full. To do so you should return your certificate to the retailer. You also have the right to terminate cover at any time after the 45 days cancellation period; the amount refunded will be calculated pro rate even if you have already claimed.

What financial protection do I have?

Most of the money you pay us is used to obtain UK Insurance cover from Third Party Insurance Companies. This money is then held by the insurer to underwrite your service plan.

Is my product covered by the Sales of Goods Act?

All products you buy are covered by the Sale of Goods Act 1979 and the Sale Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002. If the product is not of satisfactory quality or not fit for purpose, you have the right to claim for a repair or replacement for up to 6 years (5 years in Scotland). However, after the first 6 months it is up to you to prove that the product was faulty when purchased.

When will my service plan end?

Your plan will continue regardless of how many repairs are made until it expires. However, if we replace your product with a new one the plan will end at that time.

Are my details safe?

All information provided by you will be processed by us or our agents in compliance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998, for the purpose of providing cover and handling claims. We may share this information with third parties as part of this process.

*What is not covered?

  • Use other than normal domestic use
  • Call out charges where no fault is found with the product
  • Costs not authorised by us
  • Accidental damage
  • Incorrect or faulty installation
  • Deliberate damage to, or neglect of, the product
  • Cosmetic damage and damage to accessories
  • Damage caused by flood, extreme weather or substances entering the product
  • Faults known to you before your cover began
  • Work, which relates to a manufacturer recall
  • Routine inspection, maintenance and adjustment
  • Consumables or anything that needs to be regularly replaced
